Children design their own Biomaster lunch bags

A new project for children featuring Biomaster technology has been shortlisted for two UK Packaging Awards.

Kids Ink™ is a website that allows children to design their own lunch bags, meanwhile teaching them how to be environmentally friendly in a fun, creative and interactive way.

The project brings together three UK based companies, Ultimate Digital, B&G Products and Addmaster to produce colourful bags that children described as “cool” and “amazing”.

The bags are lined with inbuilt Biomaster antimicrobial protection which inhibits the growth of harmful bacteria on surfaces, so the lunch bags can be reused time and time again.

In a trial run of the new website, 31 children from Middlethorpe Primary Academy in Cleethorpes were invited to watch their very own designs being digitally printed onto insulated reusable lunch bags.

Michael Elliott, Assistant Head at Middlethorpe said: “The children have had a really good day and an appreciation of how things are made from design to product. Being able to do design and technology and promote healthy schools outside the classroom is really valuable for learning.”
